Fall 2008 Internships!

PDN Custom Media & Events is looking for fall 2008 interns to help out with all major aspects of running and compiling a magazine.

You’ll be writing and coming up with story ideas for the PDNedu blog and helping with the PDN Gear Guide online.

Tasks also include but are not limited to photo research for IPNstock, data entry for PDN Gear Guide online and PDNedu online, working at the 2008 PhotoPlus Expo, helping with photography contests and light administrative work.

Other perks include attending the 2008 PhotoPlus Expo (and parties), great clips and working with fabulous people.

Requirements:
-You must be able to receive school credit (internship is unpaid).
-You must be able to work at LEAST two full days a week—we’re flexible after that.
-Interest in photography is a plus.
-Web interest a plus.
-Preferable past writing experience.

PDN Custom Media & Events Internships!!!!

We Want You! We have quite a few PDN Internship Opportunities available in several of our departments!

We are seeking a DESIGN intern for summer 2008.

You must:

* Have a proficiency in Quark, PhotoShop and Illustrator
* Be enrolled in a college or academic program for which you can receive class credit
* Be available to work in New York City during the months of June, July and August

You'll be working on Custom Media projects with our Art Director, including photo research and trafficking art for the upcoming Gear Guide, converting files, assisting with design/illustration work, etc.

We are looking for an EDITORIAL intern for summer 2008

You'll be writing, researching and fact checking for the PDNedu Blog, PDN's Gear Guide online and other publications of the Custom Media department. Other perks include attending the 2008 PhotoPlus Expo (and parties), great clips and working with fun people.

Requirements:
* You must be able to receive class credit
* You must be able to work at least two full days a week—we would really like even more.
* Interest in photography a plus
* Web interest a plus
* Preferable past writing experience/interest.

We need a WEB intern to help update the Gear Guide Website for summer 2008

Requirements:
* You must be computer literate and familiar with the Internet.
* A basic knowledge of HTML is definitely helpful.
* Some knowledge of photography gear is a plus!
* At least two full days a week
* You must be able to receive school credit

New York Photo Festival Volunteer Opportunity!

Interested in getting hands on experience at a photo festival? Then keep reading!

The New York Photo Festival, the first international-level festival of photography, is looking for volunteers. Volunteers are needed preceding the festival from March to May and during the five days of the festival, from May 14th to May 18th. All volunteers will receive a complimentary all-access pass to the festival exhibitions and programming.

Volunteers are needed in the following areas:

•    Marketing/Publicity
•    General/Administrative
•    Festival Staff

Condé Nast Traveler Internship

We just found out about an exciting internship opportunity for this summer! The photo department at Condé Nast Traveler is looking for summer interns to help out—the internship is available to any student who is able to earn school credit.

The photo department is a fast-paced and energetic part of Condé Nast Traveler magazine. Some of the tasks include: web searching, logging in film, labeling film with caption information as well as making phone calls to hotels and locations the magazine intends to photograph.

Internship Opportunity at Condé Nast Traveler

Condé Nast Traveler is currently looking for an intern for their photo department. Here are the details from CNT:

We are looking for a college student who can earn school credit for his or her work here. It is an unpaid internship. The hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., 2 to 4 days a week, starting now and ending in May.

The photo department is one of the busiest departments of the magazine. We use some of the most talented photographers in the world, and send them to the most beautiful and exotic places in the world. As the photo intern, you will be a part of the team. You will be involved in every stage of a photo shoot-from preproduction to logging in film to collecting final art work that is used in the magazine. We will ask you to research photos from stock agencies, evaluate portfolios, organize files of photos and print images from digital sources. You will learn how each department works together to produce this monthly magazine.

Condé Nast publishes magazines such as Vogue, Vanity Fair, Gourmet, GQ, Architectural Digest, Glamour, Cargo, Lucky and more. Our office is at 4 Times Square.
